Requirements:
World Link Education's Japan Programs are open to all persons worldwide provided they are:
i. 18 to 60 years old (or 15 to 60 years old for Language & Culture Programs)
ii. Have completed high school (except Language & Culture Programs)
iii. In good health

Step 1 - Send the Application (and accompanying documents) by fax, mail or email to the nearest World Link Education Office

iii) Application Fee US$100 for Intensive/Conversation/Total Beginner Program, $200 for Spring/Summer/Winter Program (copy of International Money Order, Bank Receipt or Bank Check** - see 'Payment of Fees' below)

v) 4 passport size photos
* Students waiting for their passport to be processed can first fax the Application with payment. A copy of the Passport can be faxed later.
**The Application is not complete until the original check is received.
- Short Term: 4 - 12 weeks
Applications are to be made no later than 6 weeks before the first day of the program. If the deadlines cannot be met, please contact WLE.

Applications should be received 6 months before the program starts. In order to process visa support documents a non-refundable deposit is required. For more information on the Long Term application process, or if deadlines cannot be met, please contact WLE.

Step 2 - Send all ORIGINALS of the faxed documents and payment by MAIL
(we need the original documents to complete the application)
Mail items (i) (ii) (iii) and (iv) along with (v) 4 passport/wallet size photos to the nearest World Link Education Office.

Step 3 - Acceptance
Within 10 working days of receiving your Application, we will send you:
(i) A confirmation that we have received your Application
(ii) An Acceptance Notice
(iii) An Enrollment Form
A placement in the program will be held for you until you enroll.
Step 4 - Enrollment
Please read World Link Education's program information and Terms and Conditions before enrollment. To enroll and confirm your placement in the program:
- Complete the Enrollment Form
- Pay Program Fees by the due date (no later than 4 weeks before the 1st day of the Program) - see 'Payment of Fees' below.
- FAX the Enrollment Form (1st page only) and a copy of Bank Receipt or Bank Check verifying payment to WLE.
Upon receiving your enrollment, you will be sent the following:
i) A confirmation that we have received your Enrollment Form and Fees.
ii) Welcome Information
Step 5 - Visa
Participants from the USA, Australia, and some countries in the European Union studying for less than 90 days do not need a visa to enter Japan. Participants from UK, Germany, Switzerland and Ireland studying for less than 180 days do not need a visa to enter Japan. Participants from all other countries should consult with their local Japanese consulate or click here
Students studying 3 months or longer in duration may require a student visa. For students who require a long term visa, Applications must be received at least 6 months before the start date of the program. After enrollment is completed, students are provided with a Letter of Invitation and an Admission Notice. These formal documents are required when applying for a study visa to enter Japan.
Note that the provision of visa support documents is subject to Japanese Consulate and Embassy requirements.
Step 6 - Arrival Details
Arrival details must be given at least 2 weeks before arrival; otherwise arrival transfer services will not be available. Send a Fax or Email to advise World Link Education of the:
- Date of Arrival
- Time
- Airline
- Flight number
- Place of Departure
Arrival Transfer Service
Free transfer service from point of arrival in Tokyo to your accommodation is provided for students enrolled in the Total Program. A WLE representative will meet participants at the airport and help them to their accommodation.
Payment of Fees
(Application or Program Fees)
For Application, pay the non-refundable Application Fee USD $100 (or Late Application Fee USD $160). In order to process an application for Language & Culture programs
a non-refundable deposit is also required.
For Enrollment, pay the applicable Program Fees.
Payment may be made in either one of 2 ways:
1) By Bank Transfer
Your bank will provide you with a Receipt that must be attached to your Application Form (or Enrollment Form) and sent to us in accordance with Step 1. This is to verify payment. For payment details please contact WLE
2) By Bank or Cashier's Check or International Money Order
Make the money order or bank check payable to: 'WorldLink Education'
Send the check by courier or registered mail in accordance with Step 2. WLE is not responsible for any losses or misplacement in the mail. Private checks are not accepted.
